ThePolymer Materials and Engineering major was approved as a pilot majorfor the national outstanding engineer training program in 2011 andwas approved as a provincial school-enterprise cooperation practiceeducation base in 2012. It has a doctoral program in materialsscience, which is one of the majors with the longest history at HefeiUniversity of Technology. It is also a key development major withstrong teaching and scientific research strength and distinctiveoperating characteristics.

Itseducation goal is to cultivate students who have both ability andintegrity, possess professional knowledge in polymer materials andengineering, and can engage in scientific research, technology andproduct development, process and equipment design in the fields ofsynthesis, modification, molding processing, testing and applicationof polymer materials. The students are targeted to beapplication-oriented outstanding engineers with strong engineeringpractice ability, innovative spirit and entrepreneurial awareness whowork in material selection, production, operation management, productmarketing and other aspects.
